Our experience of working on health care and assisted living groundworks projects stood us in good stead for the work that has been carried out on the building of a new health hub centre in the heart of Lillington, Leamington Spa. The new facility has recently been completed and handed back to the Clients, South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust.
The main contractor on the job was our long term Client, Coventry based, Deeley Group. The scheme, which began back at the beginning of 2023 would eventually see a purpose built health facility constructed for the local residents to access, whilst helping to take the pressure off other local NHS services in this part of Warwickshire.
Our scope of works on the project included the carrying out of site wide groundworks including the demolition of an existing building and clearance of undergrowth before levelling and ground preparation could commence. The team then got on with the installation of drainage, services and foundations, ready for construction of the building to begin.
The new steel framed building takes on a similar brickwork finish that reflects the style of the neighbouring Church of Our Lady. Now completed, the centre will provide access to a number of desperately required services in the area including mental health support and access to community health teams and a range of primary care services. The building also promises to be low carbon and to be less impactful on the local environment.
As construction of the building got underway, we turned our attention to preparing the external areas of the site with the laying of a high quality tarmac and block paved car park. Access pathways around the building were laid and boundary fencing and retaining walls erected to the extremities of the site.
The high quality external works and finishing were completed in April 2024 and the site handed back to the client ready for the new building to be commissioned and for services to commence.
