M & T Midlands are about to commence work on the new groundworks and external works elements of a brand new housing construction in the heart of Birmingham.
The project will see the development of a retirement living complex on derelict land that was the former home of Clyde Tower in the Lozells area of the city. The 20-storey tower block was demolished back in 2006 and re-development of the site is about to get underway on the remediated land.
The site owner, Housing 21, is a Birmingham based provider of Retirement Living and Extra Care properties for the elderly residents across the city. They have vast experience of developing high quality accommodation that provides a safe and secure place for people to live. For this project, the developer brought together the older members of the community to understand their housing requirements before designing and creating a purposed built housing development that will meet the independent living needs of the local population.

Working on behalf of our long term client, Deeley Group, the scope of work on the project includes:
Site levelling
Groundworks
Foundations
Drainage installation
Installing services
Walkways, car parking and access paths
Soft landscaping
Due to our relationship with our client, they knew we could handle this type of project. We have regularly demonstrated our ability to deliver outstanding workmanship and completing projects to the highest quality on time and to budget.
With sitework about to commence, the expectation is that the first residents are going to able to move into the new community hopefully by the end of 2024.
