Storm Water Management Systems

Installing an effective storm water management system is an important element of any construction project. Ensuring that rain and surface water is collected and removed in a controlled way helps to prevent the overloading of the drainage system and significantly reduces the risk of flooding occurring.

A sustainable drainage system (SuDS), that is installed during the groundworks phase of a project, and before any major civil engineering and external works commences, will improve the long term control of on-site storm and surface water.

M&T Midlands can install all types of storm water management systems. The different variants available will efficiently control surface water, suppressing the release into the drainage system in a way that eliminates floods and the associated issues.

Attenuation Tank System

To efficiently control the flow of storm water back into a water course or drainage system, M&T Midlands can install attenuation tanks during the groundworks stage of any construction project. An attenuation tank system collects the surface water run off from roofs, paths, car parks and roadways during rainfall.

The plastic crates are placed in trenches and connected into the drainage system. When rain falls or surface water drains away, it will be diverted into the tanks and stored until a flow control chamber releases the water at a rate that the traditional drainage system can handle without the risk of flooding occurring.

Interceptor Tanks

For areas where storm water run off is at risk of becoming contaminated or where there is a heightened risk of pollutants getting into the water supply for example, a car park, commercial garage, car wash, agricultural facility or oil and fuel storage depots, we can install an interceptor tank system.

Interceptor tanks consist of a series of chambers that effectively separates the pollutants. The waste water is then discharged back into the drainage system or water course.
